A good dragon can get an ac of around 100. Being flatfooted is a problem so I like the barbarian dragon. The ranger one would do more damage though, although maybe not enough to justify loosing...

Just make a Ranger damager or Pally Damager and you wont have to worry about tanking. The baddies won't be alive long enough to kill anything. Ranger/Bard/RDD or Pally/Bard/RDD............very simple....
